Utilizing her original work such as, “Insomniac Coyote,” “Holden Nosleeves,” “Buffalopillar Tortugas” from her recent CD, Wingin’ It and an old time traditional song or two, Georgia Rae’s workshops have an emphasis on improvisation and finding the courage to play more from the heart and less from the page. Orchestrated sheet music and CD can arrive ahead to help familiarize students with the material. The day can culminate with a performance, which can be highlighted with student participation. Performance & Demonstration
Georgia Rae offers a performance and demonstration on her loop pedal in a student assembly or class setting. You will find her positive enthusiasm contagious and inspiring to students, and her songs are fun natured, skillfully executed, and have that stick-in-your-head quality. |
Georgia Rae has a new ukulele song book in the making, "Crazy Ukulele Lady" which will be available soon.
Georgia Rae has been teaching private lessons since 2012 and has brought her workshops to elementary and middle school orchestras, library and summer camp programs. In July 2018 she was invited to teach the youth program at Christian Howes Creative Strings Workshop in Columbus, Ohio and has returned every year since, now working as an ambassador to this amazing program. Georgia Rae has achieved fiddle champion status 7 times over 3 states (WI MN IL), 5 twin fiddle titles (CO MN) and one national twin fiddle champion win (NOTFA, ID 2016). She has performed publicly with her band throughout the Midwest, Georgia Rae Family Band, since she was 11 and continues to do so today as well as performing solo with her loop pedal.
