Georgia Rae Family Band
Kelly Jo and Georgia Rae are sisters and a song writing duo originally from Richmond, IL, a small town on the WI border. The inseparable sisters anchor the Georgia Rae Family Band which is made up of younger sister Quin on Mandolin, mom on guitar and Joe Burie on the stand up bass. The band has always pushed the envelope of traditional music creating a mix of Americana, contemporary folk, roots, and a little jazziness, flavored with sister harmonies and youthful energy. Their original songs are cleaver, catchy and strung with meaning and life lessons of their experiences growing into young women and adulthood. These girls have come of age and into their own.
Georgia Rae has won 7 state fiddle championship titles (WI, IL, MN), 5 state twin fiddle champion titles (MN, CO) and is the 2016 National Twin Fiddle Champion (NOTFA, ID). She has been performing before audiences with the Georgia Rae Family Band since 2011 at various venues such as the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, Chicago Botanic Garden, Jackpine Jamboree, John Hartford Festival, and country fairs and festivals throughout the Midwest.
